Announcing the Robert Howard Next Step Award

Last summer we lost a dear colleague, Robert Howard, when he and his family died in a tragic roadway accident while on vacation in Canada.

Many of LUNAR’s clients benefited from Robert’s extraordinary engineering talents over the years, but he was especially proud of the contributions he made to the health care and medical technology industries.

We thought long and hard about a fitting and lasting tribute to Robert, his passions and his memory. Today, we’re proud to announce in partnership with Stanford University’s Biodesign Program the Robert Howard Next Step Award for innovations in medical technology.

Beginning this year, 2 selected Stanford Biodesign teams will each be awarded 100 hours of design and engineering consultation from LUNAR. Over a period of 3-4 months, recipients will collaborate with LUNAR to develop the medical technologies they conceived in the Biodesign program.

Award recipients will be recognized on commemorative plaques on display at Stanford and LUNAR.

Stanford and LUNAR are accepting nominations through May 25 for the 2012 awards. Download entry information here and submit your entry here.

Please spread the word and thanks for helping us share Robert’s creative spirit.
