Lunar Design Supports Public Dialogue and Modern Art

Lunar Co-Sponsors KQED Member’s Day at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art San Francisco, Calif.

April, 2007 -- Lunar Design, a twenty two year-old world leader in creating successful, iconic products for the consumer and medical industries lends support to both the public dialogue encouraged by KQED and the art community by co-sponsoring the KQED Members’ Day at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA).

"We believe in KQED’s mission to deliver our community quality programming that opens our minds to the world," said Lunar’s president, John Edson. "We are proud to support KQED in this way, helping them open the doors of SFMOMA as a special gift to members. The arts inspire us all to be more creative in our everyday lives and to use creativity to make a difference."

KQED hosted a Members' Day at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art on Thursday, March 1, to help celebrate the opening of the museum’s Picasso and American Art exhibition. Lunar co-sponsored the event, which was free from 11am -9pm for any KQED member and a guest. The day had an extraordinary turnout, with 1,876 KQED members attending.

Picasso and American Art is on view at SFMOMA through May 28, 2007. This exhibition spotlights nearly 40 works by Picasso and more than 100 works by nine American artists who were directly influenced by him. KQED members enjoyed the opportunity to be invited to the members’ day, honoring their support of public radio. Lunar Design helped make the day possible with their support of KQED Member Day.
