We love working with leaders in their markets, and when they’re standing out by doing something really important, all the better. WIRED in its September 2011 issue proclaims Switch’s 60-watt equivalent LED as the green bulb for design nerds. Awesome.
Switch is on the front lines of a hot new market — alternatives to traditional incandescent bulbs — that’s about to explode as provisions of the Energy Independence and Security Act kick in next year: 100-watt incandescent bulbs will be banned in the U.S. starting in 2012, 75-watt bulbs are history in 2013, followed by 40- and 60-watt bulbs a year later.
As WIRED points out, Switch’s stylish, yellow-tinted LEDs shine through a cooling liquid to cast a warm, living-room-quality glow — and draw only 13 watts to do it.
Keep your eyes peeled for a range of creative expressions of the Switch brand designed by LUNAR….
Congrats, Switch, on shining a light on technology that matters.
