As our moods or activities change, we should have the flexibility to change our ambient lighting as well. Although multiple lighting products can accomplish this, a flexible light would be a far better solution. Ember is that light fixture. It allows the user to change ambient lighting according to his or her mood through tactile interaction with the product. A set of light pipes can be moved up or down from a wooden chamber to brighten the environment or create a warm soft glow.
Design should surprise, delight, inspire, and provoke, and with Ember we’re able to address all of these goals. Through this project exploration, the design team manifested a point of view that impacts how people experience their environments.
